13.09 miles
I ran, and then ran, and then ran... in my own cozy, homemade void, in my own silence (sort of). And this was a pretty wonderful thing. Then Freddy, Morgan and Grace had to come and get me, because I ended up in Redmond :)
Running day after day, piling up the miles, bit by bit I raise the bar, and by clearing each day I get a little bit "better". At least that’s why I’ve been putting in the effort day after day: to raise my own level. I’m no great runner, by any means. I’m at an ordinary or perhaps more like mediocre level. But that’s not the point. The point is whether or not I improved over yesterday. The only "opponent" I have to beat here is myself, the way I used to be.
Running every day makes it easier to hear that inner voice that busy life often crowds out. When I'm running I don't have to talk to anybody and don't have to listen to anybody, I am on my own and it brings joy. This is a part of my day I can't do without now.
I feel good, I feel alive.
