0 miles (total: 2,499.89)

It has been a while (to say the least) since I’ve posted here. I have been running, but not regularly. The injury in September really sidetracked me. Barely could walk, but now almost recovered, and back to running. I am ready for a new personal challenge. I miss my boring running days.

I plan to do a triathlon, Ironman, this year. I am nervous to write this given the vulnerability to injury, but we only live once. So gotta live a little. I have the training plan and I am excited by the opportunity to see what my body and mind can do. I know one thing, I will not regret doing it regardless of the outcome.

So what is Ironman?

An Ironman Triathlon is one of a series of long-distance triathlon races organized by the World Triathlon Corporation (WTC), consisting of a 2.4-mile (3.9 km) swim, a 112-mile (180.2 km) bicycle ride and a marathon 26.22-mile (42.2 km) run completed in that order, a total of 140.6 miles (226.3 km). It is widely considered one of the most difficult one-day sporting events in the world.

Why do it?

Because I simply want to do it, and I know it will be something that my kids will really respect. Actions speak louder than words.

I will start in a week, since I am on the road right now in Europe. It will be fun.
