Do It Right
Sometimes, on the road to where we are going or where we want to be, we have to do things that we’d rather not do.
Everything we do matters (I've internalized it so deeply) - whether it’s making your child breakfast every day or doing your laundry or doing the PowerPoint or write code or go for a 6 mile run. Everything is a chance to do and be your best. Only self-absorbed assholes think they are too good for whatever their current "state" requires.
We owe it to ourselves and to the world to do it well.
That means whatever we face, our job is to respond with:
hard work
honesty
helping others as best as you can
Whether anyone notices, whether you are paid for it, whether it turns out successfully - it doesn’t matter.
Anything that is rightly done, however humble, is noble.
I did my best today, including today's run.
It feels good.
My new beautiful white (not for long) shoes :)
