6.01 miles (total: 2066.52 miles)
I could never do that - I'm not a runner.
- Lots of people
Today is the day... T-0. 365 days of non-stop running done! - summer, fall, winter, spring - every day, rain or shine, work or children, tired or sleep-deprived or well-rested - 2,066.52 of the most precious miles (equivalent distance from Seattle to Chicago or from Seattle to somewhere deep in Mexico..).
Sigh! What a journey!!
I could write 365 lessons that I've learned while running every day for a year... or how to do anything your set your mind to, but I won't (not today at least), I need to recover a little bit and then I will write something truly amazing (the material is all in my head)... One thing I can say anyone can run an irrational distance, whatever that distance is.
And my Bored Runner "resume" after 365 days reads like this:
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Name: Bored Runner
Address: Issaquah Alps
Summary: Runner
Experience: Several runs (365 in 365 days) of varying duration + length
Skills: Putting one foot in front of the other ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The only thing I had to do to be a runner was run. That's right. I just did that, and eventually you are not just running anymore - you are a runner. Like this:

A Runner
Running has given me freedom. Most of us have enough areas in our lives where we have to meet others' expectations. My running was all about my own hopes and dreams. It was so pure, so good.
It has taught me that the pursuit of something that is deeply meaningful matters more than the passion itself. If you immerse yourself in something deeply with all the heartfelt intensity - continually improve, never give up - this is the fulfillment, this is success.
Also, running in the rain (and there is lot's of it in Seattle!) is like a bad relationship. I don't like it, but I love it.
Day 365. 2066.52 miles. Thank you!

P.S. I have to thank the Bored Baked for starting all of this! A person who inspired this all for me. I got the most delicious cake from her today. THANK YOU!! If not for you, this entire COVID year would have been far more difficult.
P.P.S. To be continued... another "bored adventure" in the works :)
