6.03 miles (total: 1755.94 miles)
When I get tired while running, I often resort to my inner four-step checklist:
Number one: I am exhausted. I let myself feel it and I acknowledge it.
Number two: I take stock of where I am and how much longer I need to get to where I need to get to. I may feel exhausted or even pissed off (yep, no point to deny those feelings - I am human). But it is not life-threatening.
Number three: I ask myself what can I do to remedy the situation. I could stop, but it is never an option. The answer is: Keep Moving. Keep putting one foot in front of the other. Keep running.
And four: Separate negative thoughts from reality. Don't dwell on feelings that aren't going to help.
I keep moving.. I keep running. Perhaps above is the implicit checklist for the rest of life.
Is perseverance this simple? Is it this reducible? I don't know, but it keeps me going while others might have stopped..
Today's run was soaking wet, grey, but I've covered what I needed to cover..
