Day 303, T-62 (March 24, 2021)

6.02 miles (total: 1732.88 miles)

You can spend your life chitchatting with someone - even a good friend or a significant other - but spend even an hour running uphill with someone, breathing rainy air, soaking wet and I guarantee you the chitchat will turn to something else (with me - it happens to be me - every day).

The great paradox of running is that it is a solitary activity, and one must block out nearly everything except the next step, then the next step.... and then one after that. I have a deep love for runners, because we all love the same - the same exercise in self-sacrifice and pursuit of transcendence. Because that's what we are all chasing - that "zone" where we are performing at the peak of our abilities. That instance when we think we can't go on but do go on. We all know the way that moment feels... The longer I run, the more I grow to love running, but not only the sport and other runners, but people in general. We all struggle to find meaning in a sometimes painful world. I do it in a very distilled version of every day running.

Happy 303rd day!
