Day 3: Strength in the Water, Freedom on the Bike
Day 3 of my triathlon training is in the books, and it was a beautiful blend. Today’s goal was: interval swimming and a relaxed bike ride. I switched it a little - started with a bike and then went to the pool and enjoyed the swim.
Easy Bike: 40 Minutes of Bliss
This wasn’t about sprints or heart-pounding effort—it was about letting my legs move, my mind unwind, and my body just go with it. It was almost meditative. Rides like this are a gift in training. They remind you that progress isn’t just made in the grind.
Interval Swim: 4 x 100m – Making Waves
The main set was 4 x 100 meters, a total of 1,000 meters.
I had to share a lane for a couple of laps.. but once I got my own lane, I was in the zone. I did not think of anything, I just swam. It was wonderful.
With each interval, I focused on improving the stroke slicing through the water with precision, every kick propelling me forward. The rhythm was hypnotic (or maybe I was a bit sleepy at 7AM), but I kept on swimming. When I finished the fourth 100m, I felt good.
Reflections from Day 3
Today was a balance of effort and recovery. I’m starting to see how the pieces of this triathlon journey fit together. Each workout is a thread, weaving a stronger, more resilient version of myself.
Looking Ahead
Three days in, and the rhythm of training is starting to feel good. As they say, the hardest part is showing up.
Tomorrow brings a new challenge, a new opportunity to grow. For now, I’m savoring the
feeling of accomplishment from today’s ride and swim.
Here’s to Day 3 - another step closer. Will keep going. 🚴♂️🏊♂️💪
