9.13 miles (total: 1603.15 miles)
I am 1600s, only 400 miles to go to 2,000 miles... Watching the miles accumulate is a little bit like watching "the paint dry" to an outsider, but to me, every mile is precious. Every centimeter on my regular route is intimately familiar at this point.
Today, I finally got a chance to go for a longer run... I was not rushed, I did not have to navigate in the dark with a flashlight, and I didn't want to slow down to take any photos along the way. I just wanted to run, lost in my thoughts... It was good.
In the morning, I've paused and looked at my body in the shower (I know it's a little bit too much detail), but I saw some muscles I've never seen before - WHOOAH! I thought. The body has changed. I rarely pay attention, especially during the regular week, but today I've paused and just studied myself. It's pretty remarkable to see the changes, and how the body has adapted and transformed itself.
Last night, Freddy asked me what I wanted after my run and I craved something sweet. He brought 2 almond cannoli, and after the run (I've skipped both lunch and dinner yesterday) I ate those 2 cannoli ravenously, and they tasted simply heavenly. I know I marvel at such basic things these days :)
Day 278 was perfect.
