Day 229 (January 9, 2021)

7.13 miles (total: 1317.83 miles)

Issaquah Alps loop today. Some hills kicked my butt. Some hills' butts got kicked by me :)

My new running shoes are now completely covered in mud - but that's the point. The run was good, encountering hikers or being stalled by them (for some reason, they think the trail belongs to them) was a bit annoying, but oh well. I soaked in the run. I enjoyed it. I took it all in. I also realized what I need to work on... and I got a "where are you now" phone call from my significant other too? :) He knows I go for longer runs now... but still has the urgency to check up on me.

The view and the nature were gorgeous... where else can I have it on January 9? Sometimes I forget how lucky I am - I can step out and be on the trail in less than 20 seconds. People travel to train here, I take it for granted... that's for sure.

Now I know it may sound weird, but have you ever looked at your feet? I mean really, really look? Our feet are a highly sensitive part of our bodies, no great surprise there, as they do after all contain several thousand nerve endings. It is no wonder then we will feel sharp pain and extreme discomfort when we attempt to walk, if we are suffering from some condition.

As Leonard Da Vinci put it: "The human foot is a masterpiece of engineering and a work of art." I agree.

I feel physically tired, but good tired (muscles are tingling after a challenging run).
