I was running on an "empty" stomach today, just had a glass of oatmilk milk before heading out at night (had barely any time to eat today) and what a joy it was - I was surprised. I was faster, lighter and felt perfect. Granted the distance of 6+ miles is not enough to really "get to you". But having a plant-based diet lately and feeling "lighter" has been really helping my running lately... and I feel great!
To describe what I am going through and to explain the experience of running daily for 200+ days to someone who's never run or who has never tried to run for a long distance it is like trying to explain color to someone who was born blind. It is so many things and so many experiences in "one thing". A run (any run) is wonderful, but a run with yourself every day for a year - you become friends with your own soul and your own imagination for life. So many things cross your mind on those miles, day in and day out.
