5 miles
First snow day (and snow-running) of the winter! It was slippery first 1/2 a mile, but once lower in the elevation, it was smooth and stable and FUN! Sunny, beautiful, Christmassy!!
Bad weather always looks worse through the window. As they say, "there’s no such thing as bad weather, just soft people" :)
Winter running carries a sense of adventure. The more extreme the conditions, the more memorable and special the experience becomes. I enjoy the really cold and windy/rainy/snowy days when it seems like no one else is out there and with proper attire (I am getting masterful at that!) and preparations you are actually quite comfortable and feeling so happy. My favorite thing to do in the winter is to find a nice single-track trail, and just go out and run totally according to feel - forgetting about everything... even if for a brief moment.
