Day 198 (December 9)

5 miles

So I've mentioned I listen to books while I run now daily. I just finished another one... eating them up like peanuts :) What really knocks me out is a book that, when you're all done reading it, you wish the author that wrote it was a terrific friend of yours and you could call him or her up on the phone whenever you felt like it. That doesn't happen much, though...

I miss just calling up people, or bumping them on the streets, or just being around people. Some day this will come back. No doubt. And there will be so many amazing stories to tell..

A bit random, but... my hands bumped into my legs today while I was waiting for the lights to turn green at the cross-roads. I've felt my muscles, and they are like two long rocks. SOLID MUSCLE. I was a bit surprised to feel how actually strong they've become, I shouldn't be, but it was surreal to feel it. The physical transformation is unbelievable...

It never gets easier (every day is still hard), but you definitely get stronger. Physically I definitely feel it. There is another aspect of daily running - you don't have to think about it. There is no decision to make - you know you have to do it, and you will do it. That 'freedom' to not think about it (I know it's a weird thing to say) is so simple. You start doing it on auto-pilot, and it opens up your mind, heart and soul to other things... while you are still kicking butt at running :)
