Day 111 (September 12)

5 miles

Well, today was not any better - smog-wise. In fact, it looks like Mars outside where we live.

Ok, if you can't run outside, gotta figure out a way to do it inside:

  • either make loops around the room (and convince my family I am a total addict or something really wrong happened with my head)

  • or figure out if there is a way to find a treadmill somewhere outside

I've managed to do the latter - reserved a spot at local YMCA to use a treadmill. In COVID times, it's now only by appointment and only for 45 minutes (they are pretty strict about it). At the end of 45 min, the lady came to me and gently told me that my "time is up" :)

It was so weird to run on the treadmill... but it was good than no running at all.

I've listened to music and on the screen "Gnomeo & Juliet" were the most distracting thing I could find to numb my mind from the dullness of stationary running.

But even 5 miles can do the magic! When I finished I've felt refreshed and pleased with myself that resourcefulness hasn't completely died in me...

May the smog go away and I can't wait to see a beautiful blue sky and take a big breath of fresh air into my lungs without any masks!
